We are five-star council licensed breeders specializing in Basset Hound puppies and miniature Dachshund puppies.

Quality. Health. Heritage.
At Orchdachz, our story is built around a genuine love for dogs and a commitment to raising exceptional family companions. Based in the heart of Cornwall, we specialise in Basset Hounds and Miniature Dachshunds, two breeds we are incredibly passionate about.
Our aim is not simply to produce puppies, but to give every puppy the best possible start in life. We carefully consider health, temperament, conformation and heritage when planning our breeding, with the welfare of our dogs always at the heart of what we do.
Our Basset Hounds are bred for their wonderful nature, distinctive character and loyal, affectionate personalities, while our Miniature Dachshunds are treasured for their intelligence, confidence and loving companionship. Both breeds have their own unique qualities, and we are proud to help families discover the joy of sharing their lives with them.
At Orchdachz, all of our puppies are Royal Kennel Club registered. We believe responsible breeding means being open, transparent and committed to giving our puppies the strongest possible foundation for their future.
Every Orchdachz puppy:
We want our relationship with our puppy families to continue long after a puppy leaves Orchdachz. Buying a puppy is the beginning of a relationship, not the end of one, and we are always here to offer guidance and support throughout your dog's life.
We believe every puppy deserves a loving, responsible and carefully chosen home. Equally, every family deserves confidence that their puppy has been raised with care and that their breeder will remain there to support them.
From our Cornwall home to families across the UK, our goal remains simple:
To breed responsibly.
To raise with love.
To protect the heritage of these wonderful breeds.
And to give every Orchdachz puppy the very best start in life.
Orchdachz UK — Quality. Health. Heritage.

At Orchdachz, our breeding programme is dedicated to producing healthy, happy and well-adjusted Miniature Dachshund and Basset Hound puppies, with a strong emphasis on health, temperament, conformation and heritage.
We carefully select our breeding pairs, considering their health, temperament, structure, pedigree and overall suitability for breeding. Both the Miniature Dachshund and Basset Hound breeds have a rich history, and we are proud that champions can be found throughout the pedigrees of many of the dogs within these wonderful breeds. We believe that preserving the best qualities of these established bloodlines, while continuing to prioritise health and temperament, is an important part of responsible breeding.
With many years of experience and a deliberately small breeding programme of just five breeding girls, our puppies receive a level of individual care and attention that is extremely important to us. This isn't a large-scale operation; each dog is known individually, loved as part of our family and given the time and attention they deserve.
Our puppies are also fortunate to grow up surrounded by family. Grandmothers, aunts and other members of our extended canine family are here for our puppies to meet, helping them experience different ages, personalities and interactions from an early stage.
We believe that the foundations of a wonderful family dog begin long before a puppy leaves us. Our dogs are raised in a loving, nurturing and stimulating environment, where they receive individual attention, appropriate socialisation and plenty of positive experiences.
Most importantly, we want every Orchdachz puppy to leave us not only healthy and well cared for, but confident, happy and ready to become a much-loved member of their new family.
Small-scale breeding. Carefully selected bloodlines. Generations of experience. A lifetime of love.
Quality. Health. Heritage.

Why Are All Orchdachz Puppies Endorsed?
At Orchdachz UK, all of our puppies are sold with Kennel Club endorsements in place. This is an important part of our responsible breeding programme and reflects our commitment to the health, welfare, and long-term future of the breed.
Kennel Club endorsements help ensure that our puppies are protected from being bred irresponsibly or used in unsuitable breeding programmes. Our goal is to ensure every dog bred from Orchdachz lines meets the same high standards of health testing, temperament, and correct breed type that we are proud to uphold.
What Do Kennel Club Endorsements Mean?
Endorsements are restrictions placed on a puppy’s Kennel Club registration. The most common endorsements include:
Progeny Not Eligible for Registration
Export Pedigree Not Allowed
This means that any puppies bred from an endorsed dog cannot be registered with the Kennel Club unless the endorsement is lifted by the breeder.
Why Do We Use Endorsements?
We use endorsements to protect our puppies and the breed as a whole. This ensures:
✅ Puppies are not bred from too young
✅ Only fully health-tested dogs are bred from
✅ Responsible, educated breeding practices are followed
✅ Our bloodlines are protected from exploitation
✅ The breed’s future health and quality are safeguarded
By placing endorsements, we ensure our puppies remain protected and that future generations continue to reflect the high standards that Orchdachz UK is known for.

We are a small family-owned breeder specializing in Basset Hound puppies and Dachshund puppies. Our journey into breeding began after a negative experience with a breeder who had multiple dogs of different breeds, which helped us appreciate the true meaning of puppy love.

A council-licensed breeder is also more likely to provide accurate information about the puppy’s health history, vaccinations, worming, and breeding background. This means you’re less likely to face unexpected medical problems later, which can be stressful and expensive.
Most importantly, choosing a licensed breeder helps prevent support for puppy farms and illegal breeders, where dogs are often bred too often, kept in cruel environments, and sold without proper care. Buying responsibly supports ethical breeding and gives puppies the best possible start in life.

All our puppies leave with four weeks free insurance, and we also offer a lifetime of support any time any day.
When buying a puppy, it’s important to look out for red flags that may suggest the breeder is irresponsible or running a puppy farm.
A major warning sign is if the seller refuses to let you see the puppy with its mother, or won’t allow you to visit the home where the puppies are being raised. A trustworthy breeder will always be happy to show you where the puppies have been brought up and will answer questions honestly. Another red flag is if the breeder seems more interested in quick payment than making sure the puppy is going to the right home.
You should also be cautious if the breeder cannot provide important paperwork such as Kennel Club registration documents, proof of microchipping, and a full record of the puppy being vet checked, vaccinated, and wormed. A responsible breeder will be able to show clear evidence of all of this. Many good breeders will also provide four weeks free insurance, giving you peace of mind during the puppy’s first few weeks at home.
Other red flags include puppies being sold too young, being offered in multiple breeds constantly, being met in car parks or delivery-only sales, or being pressured to buy quickly. A genuine breeder will never rush you and will always put the puppy’s health, safety, and future first.
We are very proud of our five-star license, even though we are just small home breeders of Basset Hound puppies and Dachshund puppies. We needed a license because the law changed in 2018. Anyone breeding and selling or advertising dogs and making over £1000 turnover needs one to ensure the love for our puppies is matched by responsible breeding practices.
If you are considering Basset Hound puppies or Dachshund puppies, please ensure that the minimal health testing has been conducted for that breed and ask to see proof if necessary. This is important for ensuring the health of your future puppy love.
At Orchdachz, all our Basset Hound puppies and Dachshund puppies are vet checked and receive at least their first vaccine before they go to their new homes. We also provide four weeks of free insurance for peace of mind and never accept cash. So, be wary of breeders who don’t do vet checks, don’t microchip, don’t offer insurance, and ask for cash, as true puppy love comes from responsible breeding practices.
